Traditional Distribution Research- Women's Health

Women's Health magazine is a well-known and widely circulated magazine that is sold in many stores and venues. Grocery stores such as Publix, Winn-Dixie, and Target distribute Women's Health magazine and are usually located in the aisles or near the front of the store for the best sales. In South Florida, the main distribution agency is South Florida Premium Distribution and they circulate magazines to Tampa, Orlando, and Miami. They are one of the top and most highly regarded agencies in Florida due to their transportation services and effective methods. Another agency that distributes Women's Health magazine and other big print media names is RNA Distribution. Transporting to stores and venues all the way in Africa, RNA is able to transport Women's Health magazine to gain a larger audience and increase the circulation methods of Women's Health magazine as a whole. Continually, through the use of current events, big name magazines have been using academy awards sho...

Revisions- Cover

Image
After reviewing my Midterm Submission and receiving feedback from my peers it was obvious that revisions had to be made in order to enhance my product. As a whole, my cover has a decent layout and format of the cover model and the subheadings around him. One of the first things that I had to fix were the subheadings. Most of my fonts for the titles around my cover model looked out of place and not coordinating. So I decided to change most of them and aimed for fonts that matched better and only used a few. In addition to the style of the font, I also had to change some of the colors so that the audience can see the subheadings better. Once I was able to get the words in the layout that I thought was best, I moved on to the background; the background in this case was my cover model and the layout of the page. From the research that my group has done on cover pages for fitness and wellness magazines, there was a variety of styles and layouts but we decided to choose a neutral toned backg...

Marketing Plan

Image
Based on the marketing and target audience research I have done, I observed a consistent style between all forms of fitness and lifestyle magazines. As for the formatting of our marketing design, we will probably base it solely off of the magazines that we researched. For our magazine, I think it would be ideal for us to utilize the following forms of marketing to sell our product: social media, internet ads, and business partnerships. Social Media- Partnering with my cover model Jake, I would ask him to post about our upcoming issues on his social media platforms to attract a larger audience to our magazine. This would increase our audience because he has about 12 thousand followers on Instagram that are aware of his participation in competitions and where he travels during the week. Along with Instagram, Jake could tweet about his upcoming appearance in my issue of the magazine. Drawing attention to different demographics such as gender, race, income, and age, our magazine's ow...

Target Audience Research- Women's Health

Image
With about 37 million subscribers in total, Women's Health attracts a large audience directed towards women and has a very feminine atmosphere. Reaching about 12 million people through print media, 9 million through digital media, and 16 million followers on social media, Women's Health magazine is able to promote a healthy lifestyle through fitness tips, celebrity influencers, and overall inspiring people to stay in shape. Their demographic consists of 16.3 million women and a total of 18.7 million people in total. Most people who are interested in the magazine are above 35 years old but they don't target their issues towards a specific age so the age range is targeted around millenials and up. Women's Health constantly does partnerships with different brands with the use of product placement as one example. Specifically, there was an article on their website, as part of their marketing plan, titled, "How I'll finally make it to race day, injury free" whi...

Target Audience Research- Self

Image
With a growing audience of teens and adults, Self magazine reaches about 7.2 million digital followers and 3.2 million social media followers. In 2013, Self magazine averaged about 5 million people as their total audience amount and a circulation of about 1.5 million. The editor in chief, Carolyn Kylstra, chooses their issues based on their wide demographics: health, healthy lifestyle influencers, those who regularly exercise, and wellness enthusiasts. As for their marketing plan, Self chooses to divide their issues and topics through the months. In January through May, Self offers wellness challenges adapted to your workout routines and encourages their participants to challenge themselves. In May, beauty is their main focus; with articles from wellness experts and product placement, Self has a section on Health and Beauty Awards to recognize the most innovative and creative products of the month. This helps boost sales of the products ultimately resulting in Self Magazine as a whole,...
